Let's use your favorite toy friend as a muse for your own artful fashion line.
IN THE GALLERIES Study and sketch the fashions of various time periods and places. Be on the lookout for textiles with perfect patterns and proportions. Gather inspiration for your own exclusive summer line. IN THE STUDIO Create a portfolio of runway designs for your favorite doll, action figure, or plushie. Create haute couture for your companion. Stage a runway show for family and friends. MATERIALS Graphite pencils, colored pencils, paper, thread, fabrics, embellishments.

Let's explore the third dimension as we bask in the basics of sculpture.
IN THE GALLERIES Experience the museum in three dimensions. Search for examples of additive and subtractive techniques used to create sculpture. Cast shadows and find shapes, textures, and details hidden in sculptures' nooks and crannies. IN THE STUDIO Play with positive and negative space in your design process. Mock up a maquette (scale model) for your final project. Select from a variety of materials to move your ideas from study to form. MATERIALS Mixed media, found objects, clay, tagboard.
